What does learning drums and music with Matthew Atkins Music offer?  Matthew's years of experience as a top level professional drummer, as well as his own education as an honours graduate from the famous Musicians Institute, are all shared with you during your drum lessons and mentoring sessions.  Matthew teaches how to get the best sound from your drums, what is your role when playing in a band, and how to approach learning songs.  How do professionals play so consistently and confidently, and how to develop skills that will allow you to play any song you want to.   Drum lessons with Matthew Atkins Music are a great step in your drumming development whether you are just starting or already a seasoned professional.

Matthew' has times for drum lessons available at several locations in the Vancouver, BC area each week for in-person lessons.  Matthew also offers online drum lessons through Zoom at no additional cost to you.  Online drum lessons are taught from Matthew's professional recording studio The Drum Oven, with multiple cameras and professional sound quality available.  This ensures that the lessons are clear and easy to follow.  In person lessons are available in Coquitlam,  BC,  in a Covid safe manner, with proper precautions and physical distancing in place.

All in person and online drum lessons are priced at $60 per hour.  There is no tax on music lessons.
Minimum duration is 30 minutes for recurring weekly drum  lessons.  Minimum duration for single drum lessons is 60 minutes.  Longer lessons and/or more frequently scheduled lessons are available and encouraged.
All drum lessons cost the same regardless of location or being done online.  In addition to the cost of lessons, you will need to provide your own learning materials such as drumsticks and books.  Books are available from any local music store or online music store, and are relatively inexpensive.  Your particular study materials will vary depending on your goals and playing experience.
